Hi, It seems that the System Restore related register key was created by certain program or corrupted by virus. First of all, please use your anti-virus program run a full scan and make sure the system is clean, after that, please use Malwarebytes perform another anti-malware scan.http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Can you turn on system restore now?Turn System Restore on or offhttp://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Turn-System-Restore-on-or-off

If the issue persists after scanning the system using anti-virus software as Gordon mentioned, please access Safe Mode (Restart computer, press the F8 key when the boot menu pops up, select [Safe Mode], and boot up) and check if the issue still occurs. If the issue does not occur in Safe Mode, go in to Clean Boot to check the issue. If the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we continue to narrow down which entry is causing the issue.
